Conflict And Harmony: On The Olympic Culture And The New Period Sports Literature

From a Cultural Perspective, this paper discuss the influence of Olympic to the development of Chinese sports literature, around the sports literature creation of the new period. The characteristics of the new period sports literature are analyzed through studying on the relationships between the Olympic culture and sports literature. The conclusion of this research will enhance the study to sports literature creation. This paper mainly includes the following five parts:The first part is summary of study, including the meaning,content and characteristic of Olympic culture and sports literature. It is the foundation of this paper.The Olympic culture originated from the western. It is the spiritual wealth created by the Olympic games, such as the Olympism, Olympic spirit, education, Scientific Research and so on. It includes three levels that is Olympism, Olympic spirit and Olympic culture activities. It has the characteristics of pluralism, trait of culture and artistry. The literatures describe sport themes are called sports literature. It mainly includes sports poetry, sports novel, sports prose and sports movies and television works.The second part discusses the influence of Olympic to the development of new period sports literature. The essence of the difference between Chinese and Hesperian movies is conflict and opposition between Olympic culture and Chinese traditional culture. This paper discussed it in Values and Philosophy level. As the development of society, the influence of Western modern culture to Chinese literature is gradually penetrating, and the two cultures are from opposition to integration. This integration is proved in open and inclusiveness of Chinese traditional culture as well as the promoting of Olympic culture to the boom of new period sports literature. Thus, the relation between sports literature and Olympic culture is becoming clear.The sports reportage as the deputy of sports literature was springing up in the 1980 s. Lots of excellent works were coming forth, such as《yang mei jian chu qiao》,《zhong guo gu niang》,《bing bai han cheng》,《qiang guo meng》,《ma jia jun diao cha》. Many writers were attaining distinguish because of this works, for example Li You, Lu Guang, Zhao Yu, Xiao Fuxing, Li Xiuling and so on. The patriotism spirit, struggling vigor , spirit of devotion, and disadvantage of sports circle were described in this works. And the sports literature entered a prosperity period. The crisis of sports literature was occurring, because of the changing of Chinese social structure, the writer shortage of sports experiences and the booming of champion literature.The fourth part is development prospect of sports literature.After Beijing won the bid for the 2008 Olympic Games, the sports literature becomes prosperity again. The first Chinese sports novel appeared whose name is《ba yue kuang xiang qu》. Simultaneously lots of reportages, sports essays, sports poetry and sports movies and television teemed. Along with the development of times, science and technology, new literary carriers enormous impact on the traditional literature carriers, such as multimedia, blog etc. This will accelerate the development of sports literature.As the ending words, the fifth part gives a brief review to the development of new period sports literature. The integration of sports literature and Olympic culture is expected.
