The Opposite Of The "treatise On The Study

Wang Fu was a famous political commentator and thinker in the late of Eastern Han Dynasty. He was a pioneer of Eastern Han Dynasty's social critical thought,who was called one of the three wise men in his era.Wang Fu's representative works "Qianfulun" is a classical masterpiece in the history of Chinese thought with an extremely important position.Predecessors who studied "Qianfulun" were concentrated on the version of the collation,notes and idea research. But the linguistics perspective research is lack.We Choose "Qianfulun" as research object, having an analysis on its antonyms on the basis of exhaustive statistics which helps the vocabulary research of Eastern Han literature.We also hope the study can provide some materials which has a reference value to study the history of Chinese vocabulary.This article is divided into four parts:The first part is preface.First of all,make a brief introduction of Wang Fu and "Qianfulun", followed by describing the study present situation of "Qianfulun" and the significance of this research topic,and then recall the study situation of ancient Chinese antonyms.The second part deals with some questions of "Qianfulun"'s antonyms study.First of all, referring to various viewpoints,discuss three criteria to judge antonyms:(1) semantic criteria: The opposite sides must belong to a particular meaning system,having common semantic foundation,and the opposite sides must have opposite or relative relationship in certain sememe. (2) grammar criteria:The lexical category and grammar function of the opposite sides are basically same.(3) pragmatic criteria:The opposite sides must be in pairs in the context.Then elaborate the way to judge antonyms:About the structure,focusing on studying the words in special position,at the same time,use negative format in the book to judge antonyms;About the sense,judge antonyms by relevant notes,including the notes which are in the following text,as well as the relevant interpretation in dictionaries and other materials.Finally,describe the research methods of this thesis.The third part is an analysis of "Qianfulun"'s antonyms.Through the integrated use of various methods,judge that there are 305 pairs of antonyms in "Qianfulun".Select 22 pairs among them, having a detailed analysis,demonstrating their opposite situations in different sememes,which have more help in studying antonyms' correspondence relationship.At the same time,explore the original meanings of the 22 pairs of antonyms and try to sort out the extended meanings.The fourth part is antonyms of "Qianfulun" and the amendment of "Hanyu Da Cidian".By analyzing antonyms of "Qianfulun",find that there are some questions existing in "Hanyu Da Cidian".For example,quotation late,there is not quotation,sense not entire.All these questions can be corrected by using "Qianfulun".It can be seen that there is an important practical value in compiling and revising Chinese reference book by having a special research on antonyms of a book.
