Schumann Fugue Writing Methods, Innovative Features And Practical Significance

In this paper,two fugues of Schumann's: 0p.72 and <7 piano pieces in the form of fugues>op.126 were focused as the our research objects,detail analysis were gave on these two fugues mainly on three aspects:theme,structure and creation skill,we focal points out the characaters of musical language in Schumann's fugues, made comments to his production skills and musical styles according to the historical data and now avaliable references.Futhermore,through the comparation of Schumann with Bach,Bethoveen and the musicians live in the same period as Schumann,we revelent the suceeding and creation abilitys of Schumann on polyphonic music,and more importantly,his essential effects on the development of polyphonic music.Introduction parts ponits out the living backgrouds and learning experiences of Schumann,gave a conculusion of his unique creation thinking and style.This paper can be divided into two main parts.First part were made up with two small components which gave general intrductions and detail analyses of Schumann's 0p.72 and <7 piano pieces in the form of fugues >op.126 separatly.Second part were made up with two components.In first component,we invetigated,conculuded and disscussed the musical language in Schumann's fugues,succeding and originality of Schumann on polyphonic music were summarized from five aspects:structure characters of fugue theme, countersubject and answer,format construction,texture shape and harmonic language.Second component are the evaluations and prospections of further researchs on Schumann's polyphonic music,by making analyze and disscussion from different sides on Schumann's fugues,we not only have distinct understanging of how Schumann succedded and developed traditional polyphonic music,but also greatly realized Schumann's deep insight and astonishing creation abilitys,he gave a new life to the development of polyphonic music and took the indelible effects on polyphonic music's lasting on 19 centruy and recovery on 20 centruy,this is the real meaning of studies on Schumann's piano fugues.
