Experiment 1 explored this augment effect through laboratory experiment.Selected 94 college students as participants by random, and randomly allocated them into three groups positive, negative, and neutral affect background. Then gave all participants the same positive feedback stimulant. There are two dependent variables:(1) subjective affect experience(positive affect and negative affect);and(2) physiological responses (heart rate and skin conduction).Experiment 1 obtained four major results:(1) the method of false feedback is successful in stimulating aim affects.(2) participants under negative affect background reported more positive affect experience and less negative affect experience after receiving the positive feedback stimuli than participants under positive and neutral affect backgrounds.(3) the increased number of positive affect and the decreased number of negative affect reported by participants under the negative affect background after receiving the positive feedback stimuli is greater than that of participants under positive and neutral affect backgrounds.(4) the increased number of skin conduction by participants under negative affect background after receiving the positive feedback stimuli is greater than that of participants under positive affect backgrounds.Experiment 2 explored the augment effect through field experiment.Selected 177 college students as participants by random, and all participants filled in a series of questionnaires(questionnaires 1).Then one week after, all the previous participants again filled in a series of questionnaires(questionnaires 2).Finally allocated all participants into three mood backgrounds positive, negative, and neutral mood background, according to their scores on mood questionnaire. There are two dependent variables:(1) subjective affect experience(positive affect and negative affect),using the 150 participants from questionnaire2;and (2)subjective well-being report, using the 86 participants whose moods were the same during two weeks.Experiment 2 obtained four major results:(1) the positive event recalled by participants is able to be used as positive stimuli, which demonstrated itself by significant reducing of negative affect experience reported by all participants.(2) the absolute value of changed negative affect experience of participants under the negative mood background is greater than that of participants under positive and neutral mood backgrounds.(3) the absolute value of changed subjective well-being of participants under the negative mood background is greater than that of participants under positive and neutral mood backgrounds.(4) positive mood background is the primary predictive variable of subjective well-being.
