Life and death are a pair of ever lasting contradiction. And they are the question for everyone to face to,especially for artist.View of life and death,formed after witnessing and thining over the death,affects artists' creation and behaviour logic.Artists' creation about the theme express their attitude to life and death plainly.Life and death were the absolute themes of two artistic talent's works,Edvard Munch and Frida Kahlo.The formers paid more attention to their works of art and life experiences.The article,based on their own life experiences and great works,analyses and demonstrates their diametrically opposite attitudes to life and death.Munch and Kahlo,both with extraordinary drawing talent and tragic life experience,hovered between life and death almost in their whole lives.But their attitudes to life and death are different completely.Although Munch combated and scoffed the death when meeting with it,yet the powerlessness to frail life and the infinite fearness to death dominated him in the end.As a self-study female artist,Frida struggled with illness and death in the whole life,but she had never depressed for her close to death and long-time lying on bed helplessly. Oppositely,while facing to death,she was so optimistic and brave,and made sport of death,fulling with the hope of life. Frida did her best to live on her dignity,and made her sorrow and brief life more wonderful.
