| Frida Kahlo(7.7.6,1907.7.6--7.13,1954.7.13)was a famous Mexican painter.Most of her works were biographical and narrative,drawing from her personal life.Critic jose moreno villa said of Frida’s work: "it is difficult to separate her life from her art.Her paintings are her autobiography." This kind of autobiographical painting subject enables people to have a glimpse of her life and artistic development.To decipher the inner spirit of Frida Kahlo’s art,her biography provides crucial clues to the analysis of her mental activities(the subconscious state)and thus her creative intentions.Many scholars have studied Frida and her works before,mostly from her tragic life,artistic language,style and other aspects of the works,but this paper avoids generalities from her life,focusing more on her autobiographical painting theme construction of the potential factors,evolution process and reflected deep meaning.This paper is to study the construction of Frida’s autobiographical painting.The main viewpoints and conclusions of the research results are discussed from the following four aspects: first,from the perspective of the potential factorsfor the formation of Frida’s autobiographical painting.Research why she wants to use the subject matter of biography narration to carry on the creation,and analyze the potential factor which affects her creation.Outside factors,Frida’s painting grew up in the national culture of Mexico,drawing on the traditional art and culture of the nation.At the same time,her family and educational environment are subtly influencing her creation.Internal factors,Frida life suffered two major trauma,one is the car accident brought about by the physical broken,another is the marriage to her psychological damage;Secondly,from the perspective of the evolution of Frida’s autobiographical painting construction process.This paper studies how she constructs the content of self-ordered painting step by step,and discusses the construction process of Frida’s autobiographical painting in the following three stages: the embryonic period(1926-1929),the exploration and formation period(1929-1949),the maturity and sublimation period(1949-1954),and explains them in combination with specific works.Thirdly,from the perspective of Frida’s autobiographical painting subject to the recognition of multiple identities of self.To discuss the deep meaning of her autobiographical paintings,and to understand her cognition ofmixed-race identity,patient identity,female identity,painter identity,national identity and the identity of communist propagandist by combining the specific visual perception of her works.Fourth,from Frida autobiographical painting caused by the thinking.This paper discusses the objective historical status and the historical limitation of Frida’s autobiographical painting,and finally discusses the enlightenment the author obtains. |
