The Hours is a story written by Michael Cunningham with great breakthrough achievement.Because for a long term this story has just been regarded as a writing embodying the spiritual crisis of the women,it has been interpreted from a too simple perspective of feminism,which under-evaluated the depth and profundity of the story.I think The Hours cannot be only interpreted as a feminism story after interpreting this story, but as a story deconstructing feminism.Michael Cunningham explained the commonness of the human's confronting spiritual crisis and the loss of identity sense via the deconstructing of feminism.This text tries to interpret the problem for Michael Cunningham to dismiss from spiritual crisis and how he can get the identity sense.As the interpreting of The Hours is necessarily involved in the interpreting of Virginia Woolf,either involved in different subjects like Psychoanalysis,it is necessary to put such topic in comparative literature.The first chapter of this text mainly discusses Michael Cunningham's deconstructing the traditional feminism and Feminist Movement.
