The Thirteen Classics is a series of basic work of the Confucians in ancient China, and it is on the dominant position of the classical style of writing, both on ideology and t influence to the later ages. It has great culture value and academic value, and gives out a great influence to the world. Nowadays, the technology of computers is developing rapidly, it brings some new views and technology supports, gives a possibility to collecting and analyzing all the using conditions of Chinese characters in this huge work.This paper is one of the branch items of the national research program"grammar information dictionary of the Thirteen Classics". According to the collecting and analyzing of the writings of the Thirteen Classics, we got an accurate data on the distribution of characters and word formation condition in it. On this base we do a study over the 100 highest frequencies characters, especially 39 A-highest frequency characters between them, and find out some"absolute frequency characters". According to the study on these highest frequency characters of different level, we make a further affirm to these characters which appear most frequently and find out some laws on grammar, semantics and pragmatics.Moreover, during this study we got an arranged, normalized corpus of the entries in a dictionary of the Thirteen Classics and many important data on the distribution of characters and word formation condition of this famous classical work.
