The literary concerning incest has a magical power of appeal the humanity. Since the ancient mythology, the motif of incest has found existence in writings, establishing itself as a rather popular one among humanistic literary. Both authors and readers exhibit no tiredom and keep attracted. This thesis combs dramas and novels in sequence of historicity and comparison, starting from the ancient Greece to the recent, by analyzing and exploring from different perspectives in distinct paradigms. In the pursuit for the meaning of certain novels and their social context, this motif also endeavors to detect its aesthetic content and form-meaning. Meanwhile, the long debated topic of Oedipus complex earns second consideration and positive analysis. Along with the development of techiniques in writing, during the twentieth century, the motif of incest has already broken the traditional meaning of observing oneself, and transfers to a variation in methodlogy. It has become a profound mode of architype-myth and lirerary narration among many writings. Nonetheless, this does not denote melting of incest itself. Many contemporary writers still conduct painstaking attempts worldwide, only with the appearance of several characteritics in structural forms under the theme of incest.
