Research on the art style of Chen Suzhen is the main content in this work including six chapters: introduction, her biography, innovation, theatrics, analysis on her Representative repertoires Yu Zhoufeng and Fan Wanggong and overview on her artistic value.The introduction is composed of the writing object, the study method of the author and the present research both at home and abroad.The first chapter is the biography of Chen Suzhen collected by the author. And it can be divided into three different periods: infancy period for her traditional opera learning, the growing period for her opera performance and the mature period for her opera art. We described them with age as the sequence and with her art activity and event as the subject clue.The third chapter is about the art innovation of Chen Suzhen. It includes two parts: one is about the innovation of her headdress, makeup and clothing, the other on is about the innovation of her aria.The second chapter is the theatrics of Chen Suzhen. There are four parts: the first is a simple introduction about Xiang Fudiao in Henan Opera, the second is an analysis and description of her art characteristics, the third is about her moisten tune, performing posture and emotion processing which are inherited from Mei Lanfang and Chen Yanqiu, the final one is the sleeve skills originally created by herself.The next is the analysis on her Representative repertoires Yu Zhoufeng and Fan Wanggong which are generally discussed in the form of tables and figures.The final chapter is something about her education and training for young actresses and her contribution to Henan Opera.
