On The Modernity Of Huang Chun - Ming Bottom Writing Demands

Huang Chun-ming has been having a high sense of responsibility in a spirit of realism and close attention to the focus of society, creating a series of far-reaching impact of the works tirelessly as a well-known Taiwanese writer from the 50s into the 21 century. When we look at these works in depth ,we see that, at the level of people, the main characters described by Huang Chun-ming have very similar characteristics: from the bottom of society。At the level of society, Huang Chun-ming's stories have the same background Taiwan full of modernity paradox society in transition times。As a "spokesman of the persons from the bottom", Huang Chun-ming's novels reflected the social outlook of the modernization., and taped contention of life and complex state of mind in the period of social transformation in Taiwan under the conditions of the suffering of the people, from the standpoint of the bottom persons. From his novels we saw his paradox and contradictions when facing the contradictions of modernization and also his exploration of the outlet of the society in the modernization. And then, for having a deeper understanding to Huang Chun-ming in the view of modernity, this article attempts to study Huang Chun-ming's novels from the bottom.This article is divided into 4 chapters。Chapter 1: origin of writing about the bottom. First of all, we explore Huang Chun-ming's deep feelings to the homeland and the psychological impact of his homeland for creating. And then we analyze the impact of the reality to Huang Chun-ming from social transformation and change of rural society, and then summarize the reasons of creating. Chapter 2: concerning about the survival and destiny of the bottom. We study the creating of bottom characters through peasants in the countryside, workers from the countryside, residents in the small town, and the bottom. Chapter 3: contradictions and confusion in the process of modernity. We express the paradox in the context of modernity through texts and analyze the emotional attitude, position of writing, rural, urban, and elderly people. Chapter 4: response in the transformation society. This chapter explores the consideration of modernity paradox in the background of Taiwan transformation, summarizing the bottom-up perspective in the bottom, personality and human spirit of self-call, and nationalization demands in the modern times. This shows Huang Chun-ming's concern about the society, the responsibility to people, as well as concerned about the spirit to reality and the problem-solving.
