Mr. Liu is a well-known contemporary Pi Pa artist in China. He has made exceeding contribution to the development of the art of Pi Pa.In this thesis, I will concentrate on Mr. Liu's"Chapter of Religion"to analyze how he demonstrated his performance; how he expressed his music and how he created his theory, etc. I will utilize this analyze by using the comparing, inductive and deductive method. My major clue to unfold the depth of his music and to reflect his ideal life philosophy will be to express how Mr. Liu applied his performing skills and what his conception of composing the four pieces of music -"Chapter of Religion."Chapter one: Brief introduction of Mr. Liu's three different artist experiences.Chapter two: Base on the"Chapter of Religion's"new musical style and new performing skills, I will discuss his new way of drawing materials for his music in comparison with his previous method to create the"Chapter of Life."Chapter three: This chapter will start with his method of creating the"Chapter of Religion"and his religious affection brimming over the"Chapter of Religion". Then it will indicate the change of his thinking of performance and the philosophy of his performance; it will prove his brand new method of creating his music, which not only turns around to the nature but also transcends the nature. The conclusion is that Mr. Liu's music is deeply influenced by the Chinese classical culture.
