Mi Fu "history Of Painting" Research

At present Mi Fu's'Hua shi'has been researched in varying degrees by some scholars who mainly focused on one aspect of Collection or Identification and had obtained some significant conclusions, but its intrinsic value is still not fully distilled. In this article, the'Hua shi'is studied comprehensively and mainly from Previous Paintings, Identification, Collection and several other aspects. From Previous Paintings we can see Mi Fu paid more attention to the mood and vivid paintings and had a preference for the fecits including the characteristics of Literati Painting, and at the same time Mi Fu maintained the record of Previous Paintings was one big contribution for Historical aspects of reservations. At the aspect of Identification, this article first discuss the issue whether Mi Fu have the painting ability which can profoundly affect his identification level and from which we can see the characteristics of Literati Painting. During the Identification of Mi Fu's'Hua shi' there are some records discussing the identification of the ancient paintings by Mi Fu and also some arguments about painting attribution. Collection is one important part of Mi Fu's'Hua shi'from which we can understand the method of Mi Fu's collection paintings and preservation calligraphies and paintings, know his fun and mounting methods. Through the research of Collection, we approximately conclude that Mi Fu's collection tendency is consistent with his aesthetic tendency which are all tend to old paintings, and the works with the characteristics of Literati Painting. In addition to the above mentioned, there are some non-art content recorded in Mi Fu's'Hua shi', such as clothes, murals, rhythm, religion and etc., for which the researches had mixed reviews and during which this article is tend to Mr. Xie Wei's perspective.
