Writing The Fate Of The Author

As one of the most celebrated Spanish film directors of the new generation, Julio Medem showed a deep exploration to the inner world of human through his short film experiments with his father's camera during his childhood and through the psychological courses in his attendance of medical college. Born in a family with multi-cultures, grown in the transition of Spanish film and ended up as a medical master, Julio Medem insists on his own writing and directing for every film, which brings an distinct color to his every single work.This paper attempts to offer an analysis to all of his full-lenght films through the introduction of his working experience, focusing on his consistent fate-related theme, distinct expressing forms and psychology-centered narration. It is also discussed on the relationship between his works and auteur film by its periodical development. Through the summary to his sharp-cut traits on the manifestation of the invisible mental world, my own opinion on the further development of auteur film is also carried out.
