Chinese situation comedy, as a television program form from West have undergone years of development since 1992 when Ying Da, the father of Chinese situation comedies directed and put on the first TV Situation Comedy I Love My Family in China. With years of development, exploration and creation, diverse and unique situation comedies have sprung up in China which becomes indispensable TV programs for Chinese audiences. Chinese situation comedy not only boasts its quantity, but also its unique and diverse techniques of art creation and obvious characteristics.The thesis analyzes the basis situation of Chinese situation Comedy and finds the three features, i.e. family, region and post-modernity through the research on typical situation comedies, in attempt to seek the characteristics of creation patterns of Chinese situation comedies. In the meantime, the paper also raises three possible questions which may arise in the future based on the analysis of features and tries to give feasible solutions, which may serve as a theory support for the future development of situation comedy.
