To investigate the relationship between creative thinking and executive functions,136 sophomore students were recruited to take part in the ceative thinking test and EF experiments.The indicators of creative thinking include fluency, flexibility, originality, verbal originality, figural originality while those of EF include inhibition of prepotent responses, attention switching and working memory updating. Meanwhile, the differences of gender, profession and region are concerned. The results suggests that, (1)in the gender variable, male and female students have no difference in creative thinking;in professional variable, the science students perform better in figural aspects than art students, while the art students show better performance in verbal aspects, in regional varible, the city students do better than country students on the whole. It shows that creative thinking is strongly influenced by professional training. The art students is trained more in verbal skills than the science students. The science students deal with symbols and their meaning and also the relationships between them..Meanwhile, the results suggest that creative thinking is strongly affected by invieronment and the educational resurces are more affluent in town than country. (2) There are no differences of EF in gender, profession and region. (3) Creative thinking is hardly related to EF.
