Central executive function is considered to be a product of the coordinated operation of various processes to accomplish a particular goal in a flexible manner,which plays an important role in many higher cognitive performance.It contains Inhibition,switching and updating.The process of creating is a kind of complex cognitive process,which involves the extraction of items,the switch of processing and the Inhibition of irrelevant information.The central executive function takes charge of the whole arrangements,supervision and evaluation of creative activity.so,we can see that there is an important relationship between central executive function and creativity.This research studies the relation between low,high creative thinking ability (and its three dimensions,namely fluency,flexibility,originality)of second grade students in junior middle school and three subcomponents of central executive function (inhibition,switching and updating)from the separation perspective of central executive function.The study reached the following conclusions:1. The result of inhibiton function experiment shows:as to the mean response time,except for the originality,interactive effects between the level of creative thinking,Fluency,flexibility and stimulating conditions are significant;As to the rate of response error,the interactive effects are not significant between creative thinking ability,its three dimensions and stimulating conditions.2. The result of switching function experiment shows:as to the mean response time,except for the originality,interactive effects between the level of creative thinking,Fluency,flexibility and switching conditions are significant;As to the rate of response error, the interactive effects are not significant between creative thinking ability,its three dimensions and stimulating conditions. 3. The result of updating function experiment shows:except for the originality, interactive effects between the level of creative thinking,Fluency,flexibility and updating speed conditions are significant.4. for all subjects,every subcomponent of central executive function is not completely independent,but moderately correlative to each other.that is,the response time of inhibiton function and switching function is positive correlation;the response time of inhibiton function and the score of updating function is negative correlation;the response time of switching function and the score of updating function is negative correlation.
