Self-evaluation has been a hot issue for psychological researchers for a long time, in particular, self-rating in 360 Degree Feedback is an important area of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, plenty of studies have been conducted to explore the function of self rating the indentify the difference between self-rating and others-rating. In the end 1980s and early 1990s, culture was introduced to this area to explain varying self-rating in different cultures. Based on existing findings and methodology, this study intends to explain the varying self-ratings with vertical-horizontal collectivism and individualism culture. Three enterprises in China, representing the vertical collectivism and individualism, and horizontal collectivism, are selected to take the 360 degree feedback. And the results indicate that, in all cultures, self-rating is higher than others-rating; however the difference in the company representing horizontal collectivism is not statistically significant. Also, a new initiative is developed to identify the difference between self-rating and others-rating. Besides the inconsistence in overall feedback, precise difference of ratings in diverse competencies is figured out. Some potential reasons has been discussed at the end of this article.
