Eye Movement Research Of Horizontal Vertical Illusion And Under Horizontal And Vertical Background Comparative Search Task

As one of the classic geometric figure illusion,the horizontal vertical illusion is favored by researchers for its unique structure.The simple two lines make people have such a stable illusion.Horizontal vertical illusion may be the result of a combination of different factors.Comparative search task is more about comparing the differences between stimuli,and little attention is paid to the effect of background on comparing search task,there are different forms of zebra crossings at home and abroad.The domestic zebra crossing is parallel to the road and the foreign zebra crossing is perpendicular to the road.These two zebra crossings can be used as research background.This study links the direct processing of horizontal and vertical lines with the background of horizontal and vertical lines,and discusses the effect of different horizontal and vertical on the horizontal vertical illusion and comparative search task.Previous research was more about behavioral research.The eye tracker can not only record accurate behavior data but also provide eye movement data.Experiment 1 uses 3(length: 2cm,5cm,8cm)×3(time: 150 ms,800ms,2000ms)×4(orientation: standard,rotate90°,rotate180°,rotate270°)three factors within-subjects experimental design,eye movement research to investigate the effect of different length,time and direction on the horizontal vertical illusion;experiment 2 uses single factor(horizontal,vertical)within-subjects experimental design to explore the eye movements of different backgrounds to comparative search task.Through a series of experiments,the following conclusions were obtained:(1)Under the condition of certain direction and time,different lengths affect the judgment of the horizontal vertical illusion.(2)Under the condition of certain direction and length,the horizontal vertical illusion is not affected by the presentation time,but is affected by the fixation time.(3)Under the condition of certain length and time,different directions affect the judgment of horizontal vertical illusion.(4)Horizontal and vertical illusions affect the eye movement processing of horizontal and vertical lines,which shows that the fixation index of horizontal line is significantly less than that of vertical line.(5)Under the condition of the same presentation time,different background conditions will affect the judgment of comparative search task,and the response time in horizontal background is significantly shorter than that in vertical background.
