The modern lottery of our country began 1987, which mainly has two major categories-the welfare lottery and the sport lottery. With the rapid development of gambling, the lottery industry has become to be a focus of academic,which the action of the lottery buyer has become a hot issue of the development of lottery industry. This paper mainly studies the relationship between personality traits and achievement motivation and their behavior of Xi'an lottery. The purpose is: understand the personality traits and achievement motivation and the condition of buying lottery, and explore the relationship of their mutual influence, which leading the lottery buyers rational consumption and providing a scientific basis for government to make relevance policies. Methods: Looking up the home and abroad relevance document, communicating with the lottery buyers and sale personnel, and collecting and analyzing relevant information, on this basis, working out the questionnaire of buying behavior. I sent out the questionnaire to 30 medium-sized lottery sales shop of Xi'an area,208 pieces were sent out altogether, and retrieved usable questionnaire 200 pieces, which all the data processed with the Statistical Package for SPSS 15.0 to analysis.The results showed that:Through the description statistical analysis, the male buyers accounted for the major, the male accounted for 67% and female accounted for 33%. The crowd between 25-40-year-old is the main force in buying lottery, which accounted for 68.7% of the total surveyed. The following university-based education is majority. The proportion of low-income earners accounted for relatively large about 69.5%, and the high-income groups who buy lottery tickets are slightly less. The married accounted for 69%, unmarried 31%.There is a significant difference between gender and marital status in the lottery buying behavior. The rational degree of male is higher than female's, and the married is higher than unmarried.Educational level and income have effect on the behavior of buying lottery, but not obvious.There is a correlation between achievement motivation and personality traits of the lottery buyers. There are significant correlations among the pursuing success motivation and avoiding failure motivation, synthetic achievement motivation, extroversion and psychotics. There is a negative correlation between pursuing success motivation and neuroticism. There is a significant correlation between avoiding failure motivation and synthesis of achievement motivation, extroversion, psychotics. Synthesis of achievement motivation and extroversion, neuroticism has significantly correlations. There were significant correlations between the lie tendency and neuroticism.There are correlations among buying behavior and achievement motivation and personality traits of the lottery buyers. There are no significant correlations among rational dimension of buying behavior and three dimension of achievement motivation. And the entire rest dimension has negative correlations. There is significant correlation between non-rational dimensions of buying behavior and motivation and synthesis motivation and avoiding failure. There is significant correlation between internal and external preference and personality, neuroticism of the spirit of quality.There is no significant difference to the lottery buyer among the achievement success motivation in gender marital status and monthly income variables, and there is significant difference to the lottery buyer among the pursuing success motivation and synthesis of achievement motivation in the level of education variables. There is significant difference to the lottery buyer among neuroticism dimension of personality traits.
