As the development of society, the advancement of civilization and the elevation of woman's social status, feminine film shows its status and investigation value in the film field more and more clearly. This thesis aims to study the feminine consciousness in films made in China mainland in the new epoch.Facing plenty of academic data and text materials, this thesis tries to use the following ways to study these feminine films: the theory of feminism, the combination between history and theory, test analysis. It places the depiction of feminine consciousness in the whole history. According to the two parts of men directors and women directors, it tries to unveil their different understandings to feminine consciousness.In order to study feminine consciousness, first of all, the term of feminine film and some interrelated theory should be grasped.The introduction recommends feminism and feminism film theories. Then it distinguishes the two concepts of feminine film and feminine consciousness. It not only generalizes the different viewpoints to feminine film and feminine consciousness in the field of film, but gives a clear definition. Feminine consciousness includes two aspects. The first is that film itself should give a clear show of the independent personality and free consciousness of the female image. The second is that the writer and the director should hold the clear and independent feminine standpoint and consciousness. The two aspects introject together.Chapter 1 displays the variation of feminine consciousness in the masculine director's film. In order to explain the variation and the deficiency, the shading and the oppression, the dispersal and the distortion, it finds examples in the film of some men directors, such as XieJin, ZhangYimou, JIangWen and WangXiaoshuai in the model of generation conversion, aiming to display the hard development of feminine consciousness in the reign of masculine power.Chapter 2 displays the gradual growth of feminine consciousness in the woman director's film. This part still uses the model of generation conversion. Firstly, it generalizes the women directors and their films in the new epoch. Secondly, it chooses examples from the films of some women directors, like ZhangNuanxin, LiShaohong,XuJinglei, to show the development of feminine consciousness.Chapter 3 is about case analysis. It analyzes success and failure of feminine consciousness in feminine film according examples Love between man and ghost, Infinite movement.The conclusion expresses the hope to more films filled with the feminine consciousness, besides the summary to the principal body of the thesis.
