There have been a lot of debates in the research of modern Uyghur grammar, especially in the domain of voice category of verbs in morphology. The result of the research has very important meaning in solving the existing problems such as deciding the function of the voice suffixes and finding new results, since it is based on a lot of practical, useful materials using the empirical methods. Some linguists regard the voice suffixes as derivational suffix when some others consider them as inflectional ones, and the others view them as both derivational and inflectional. There is no consensus about which category the voice suffixes belong to. What I want to argue in this article is to prove them as both derivational and inflectional suffix. My research method is being held in different ways by saying that some of the reflexive, causative, passive, reciprocal suffixes can be inflectional suffixes grammatical meaning after being attached to the original voice; some of them can function as derivational suffixes by changing the lexical meaning. The research is not very well done till now, although this idea was already put forward by other linguists with a little examples. So my point is to prove it by using profound examples.According to my research, some of the meanings of certain verbs with the voice suffixes are not given in the《Uyghur TiliniηIzahliq Lughiti》(The Annotated Dictionary of Uyghur Language) published in 1999 by national publishing house. So I also want to show this problem in the dictionary by doing statistics of this phenomenon during the process of finding the lexical meaning of these verbs. The article consists of six chapters including introduction, the features of the reflexive, causative, passive, reciprocal suffixes and summary. The first chapter is "introduction" in which the general research of voice suffix, the importance of studying voice, and the research method used in this article and the general concept of verbal voice are stated. The second chapter is about the feature of reflexive suffix in which the functions of reflexive both as inflection by denoting grammatical meaning and as derivation by changing the lexical meaning are discussed. The third chapter is about the feature of causative suffix in which the function of causative as inflection and the effective role in deriving new words are discussed. The forth chapter is about the feature of passive suffix in which the function of passive as inflection and the effective role in deriving new words are stated. The fifth chapter is about the feature of reciprocal suffix in which the function of reciprocal as inflection and the effective role in deriving new words are argued. The sixth chapter is summary. In this chapter, the effectiveness of the voice suffixes as derivation and some problems still existing related to the voice in compiling Uyghur dictionary according to the research result are summarized. The verbal voice category has been a problematic during the process of the language teaching, whether it is for mother tongue speakers or for the second language speakers. Why the learners are not able to get it well? The main reason here, I think, is, we were not able to explain it clearly. It will definitely bring convenience both for learners and teachers, if we can explain it clearly by explicit, profound examples. So the research result about the category of voice getting from the facts is of very importance in teaching language, compiling dictionary and promoting the research in the Uyghur language.
