Song Dynasty Money Shortage Problem Study - Based On Visits To Urban-rural Dual Structure

The Song Dynasty is a more developed dynasty of the feudal commodity economy in the history of our country. However, with the development of merchandise economy, the serious social and economic problem of deflation was always in existence. And it brought about the tremendous influence to the prevailing socio-economic and people living. The people of Song dynasty proposed a large number of arguments, they believed that the problem of"money shortage"was attributed to outflow of coins, melting and burning, preservation, and tax charge and so on. However, they did not recognize the essence of"money shortage". In this paper, based on the study of Urban-rural dual structure, the"money shortage"in Song dynasty was re-recognized and inspected. The existence of urban-rural dual structure was considered to be real root cause of"money shortage"in Song dynasty. And deeply felt lack of money and get the harm in the country in urban and rural structure is the dollar of rural, accounting for the vast majority of small farmers of the population. The dual structure to big merchants, big sharks, big bureaucracy, big landowners, represented by another dollar, but concentrate and storage a large number of coins. For a huge reservoir of these coins'rich room despotic gentry, Not exist in the so-called"money shortage", but an opposite of the"money shortage". Or ,it is one of the important factors caused by"money shortage"."money shortage"is a commodity product of a certain stage of economic development. It partly reflects the development of commodity economy. However, the requests for the full development has not been fully met and shown by a socio-economic crisis .This thesis consists of four parts:Part I, review academic historyPart II, Inquiry into the stage of development of the"money shortage". Firstly examine issue raised and the origin of"money shortage", and the historical stage of"money shortage"problem were also analyzed. Furthermore, The Tang and Song people investigated awareness of the problem of"money shortage".Part III, the cause of formation of"money shortage"in Song dynasty was discussed. Firstly, the attitude of Tang and Song dynasty people was briefly analyzed. Second, explore the root of"money shortage": urban-rural dual structure. Emphasis from the production mechanism of urban and rural structure: expound"money shortage"problem from tax system and monetary circulation system.
