The Class Nature Of The Renaissance, Women's Education

During the Renaissance, the education made great progress, not only the education of men became more popular, the education of women, who were on the edge of the culture in the Middle Ages, also made an obvious improvement. However, while we saw the improvement of women's education, we should also understand that this improvement was limited soberly. Inside the group of women, the level of the education among different social class had a big difference. In fact, the education of the Renaissance, especially the humanistic education was only limited to women from the upper class. They obtained a very big development in many aspects, such as the intellectual education, physical education, the esthetic education, the social responsibility education and so on. Though women from the lower class also received a little related education, when compared to women from the upper class, it wasn't worth mentioning. This was decided by the nature of class of the Renaissance. As we all know, the Renaissance was a campaign that bourgeoisie opposed feudal tradition. So it definitely represented he reflected the benefit of the emerging bourgeoisie. The nature of class of the Renaissance was obvious, seeing just from the education of women.This article dealt with the education of the upper class women during the renaissance, the women's society, including women from the high-ranking family of the city, nuns who sang poems and the high-level prostitute, and the education of the lower class women, including women from ordinary family, nuns who did the job and the subordinate prostitute. I explored the two classes of women's education. Based on the discussion of these above three aspects, I discussed the bourgeois property of the Renaissance.It can be seen from the situation of education in the Renaissance that the education level of women in this era had been greatly developed. But we can see the level of education from people who received education, the content of'the education, the purpose and significance of the education. Seen from women who received education, it mainly referred to urban upper class women from emerging bourgeois families. The education level of women from the lower class was very low. Seen from the content of the education, the content mainly referred to the humanistic education. It was an integral part of the elite culture and it possessed the nature of class. Seen from the purpose of the education, it included educating the nest generation to learn the knowledge, becoming the powerful business assistant of her husband, becoming the city rulers and so on. But the purpose of women from the lower class was only to become a qualified wife and mother. Seen from the significance of the education, the education of women in the renaissance has become a very important part of social education. This was a kind of progress of the society naturally. But we can see this sort of education took on obvious nature of class from the rank of the education of women, that is, this kind of education was the education of the rising bourgeoisie's.This paper took Marxism theory as a guide and used the method of combining macroscopic and microscopic, discussing the topic through comparison. I studied the achievements that scholars abroad made in this aspect, selected the research fruits that scholars at home had picked and made innovations in order to have new ideas on the situation of the education of women from different classes and recognized the nature of class of the Renaissance soberly.
