Taiwan's woodcarving is one of the main island by the Taiwan Paiwan, Rukai, Puyuma, Tao, Ami, Bunun, Atayal, Tsou and other creative groups with distinct characteristics of the original wood carvings of religious plastic art. Articles by Central University of Nationalities Museum of art wood carving in Taiwan for the minority of cases, from art and aesthetics of multi-disciplinary perspective, combining anthropology, ethnology, history, psychology, theory of knowledge and analysis related to the Taiwan Woodcarving shape, content and other aspects of a more comprehensive description, analysis and research. The first part is introduction, covers the cause of the problem, literature review, the definition of core concepts, research methods. The second part of the main thesis is divided into four chapters:The first chapter discusses the traditional culture of Taiwan's ethnic minorities, are divided into groups of population and social organization, material life and language, religious beliefs and the manual arts in detail for the three parts; the second chapter from the collection of Lai Yuan and the number of Taiwan's woodcarving, making and type of the two aspects of Central University for Nationalities Museum of Taiwan wood works discussed; third chapter is the collection of works of art in Taiwan in the form of wood characteristics and aesthetic style of combing and analysis; the fourth chapter of the collection of Taiwan's art and cultural functions of wood collation and analysis of excavation, and highlight Taiwan's woodcarving awareness, education and the role of religion. The third part is the conclusion, the paper studies the significance of the plastic arts collection in Taiwan and value of wood are summarized and discussed the art of wood carving in Taiwan ethnic minority research in the field many problems exist, and further need for additional research.Articles by multi-disciplinary integrated approach, scientifically explain Taiwan's woodcarving art style features and carvings aesthetic image of the cultural symbolism to show that Wood Carving Art the simple shape of beautiful exuberance and cultural landscape of totemic beliefs, dig out their art form beauty and its unique cultural connotation of the load to reveal its implication in the historical, educational, scientific, aesthetic, religious, and many other features. Taiwan will continue to in-depth study for the minority academic wood on the arts and to provide for reference to innovation in order to promote minority academic research Mainland and Taiwan. Taiwan's woodcarving art in their creative skills, materials, function, and many areas are facing all kinds of modern social and cultural impact, therefore, their study not only the cultural protection is a positive move. In the aesthetic sense, it can also be felt from the wood carving art of the wisdom of the ancestors of Taiwan tension and human-specific aesthetic impulse, this impulse should influence the tension and ethnic minorities of Taiwan's aesthetic development process, it still shining moving glory. Therefore, the study of Taiwan's woodcarving can provide us with a clue to explore the artistic emotions and aesthetic psychologies of ancestors in Taiwan, which has important academic values.
