In the history of Bible translation, how to translate the term "God" has always been a problem. The problem has earned itself a name called the "Term Question", the discussion of the Holy Name is actually the discussion of translation. In other words, the meaning of God in Chinese ancient books may or may not be able to translate the meaning of the God in Bible, which also means "Elohim" in Hebrew, "Theos" in Greek, and "Deus" in the Latin word. In the mist of controversy over translation, in order to analyze it more precisely, this paper selects the article "Wan Kwoh Kung Pao" to discuss the comparison of Chinese and Western religious culture. In order to better discuss the fourth chapter, I use the research methods of Buddhism analogical interpretation discussed ways to further analyze the similarities and differences between two religious cultures, and try to put forward the theory of the concept of the reverse analogical interpretation to sublimate the entire article.This paper is divided into five chapters. The second chapter focus on the two time periods when the different interpretations of the meaning of God have taken place, introduction of the background of the differences of religious cultures. It is divided into two parts with the first part covers the end of Ming dynasty to the beginning of Qing dynasty and the second part includes the end of Qing dynasty to the beginning of Min Guo. The detailed description illustrates the cause and development of the differences.The third chapter details the analysis of the argument in the translation of the Holy Name in "Wan Kwoh Kung Pad" from 1950s to late 1960s. It is also divided into two parts. First is the introduction to the "Wan Kwoh Kung Pad" and articles in it. Then it discusses the debate and controversy on the translation of the Holy Name, which is launched by the Protestant missionaries and involved by the Chinese scholar. There are 48 articles that have been chosen to discuss the controversy. Following by the translation of the holy name, this chapter continues to explain the cultural significance of the Holy Name controversy, which is the monotheism of Christianity and polytheism interaction between Chinese cultures.The fourth chapter is the core of the thesis. It utilizes the concept of analogical interpretation and the concept of reverse analogical interpretation to enhance the entire paper and its theory, which is that Christian civilizations can bring a new perspective to Confucian intellectuals to re-examine their own traditional culture and values. In the process of cultural exchange, Confucian intellectuals try to use the Christian perspective to re-interpret and re-explain their own culture and values. There is no winner or loser on the controversy of the Holy Name. The argument between the missionaries may never be resolved. There are many religions that largely follow the tradition in China. This paper includes the relationship between traditional Chinese culture and Christian reflections based on their own interpretation of the Bible, as well as the care of the present situation. In addition, it also includes the experience of western history. The interpretation of "God" in Chinese culture to maintain their original religious meaning and cultural connotations, depends on the people's understanding of these two words. In this interactive cultural discussion between Chinese Christians or non-Christians and missionaries, they use the thought of Christianity to elaborate the ideas in the original Christian classic text, and express their own opinion, which fully revealed the careful consideration and choice of the translation of the Chinese Christians.Thesis by examining the "Wan Kwoh Kung Pao" on the Chinese translation of the "Holy Name" of the Christian choice of words on the argument to analyze and explain the view:the spread of religion, different cultures influence each other, the Chinese Confucian scholars in the God for the word Translation time and also by the impact of Christian thought, and used the concept of such a different culture to reconstruct and explain their own culture, hoping to find the best fit between the two points.
