| The Brocade of Enshi Tujia Folk supply is unique to Enshi folk artwork. It shares practical and aesthetic purposes with a unique and abstract form. This brocade stresses and follows the principles of co-ordination, precision, balance, symmetry, rhythm, order and aesthetic spirit. With the element and form of "segmentation", it tries to achieve the formation of harmony and perfection. The traditional pattern of brocade inherits and carries on the thousand-of-years artistic creation of the essence wisdom of Enshi Tujia people. Words are never enough to expresses its profound charm and meaning. This brocade is a rich creation that brings together the strong ethnic characteristics and intensive artistic content and the wisdom of the deep cultural treasure house of information of Tujia people.Through document analysis, field survey trip, interviews, morphological analysis, this research thoroughly explores the history, tradition and the practice of the Brocade of Tujia folk art. From the approach to the shape of the rule of constitutions, the abstract elements, color rules, color characteristics of Enshi Tujia brocade and from the artistic point of connection of Tujia Brocade with the nation's aesthetic approach, this research has linked, combined and implemented the application of various elements of Tujia Brocade with art teaching program at Hubei Fine Arts Institutes for Nationalities. The research not only further improves the training model of arts education professionals in our country, but is also related to the ethnic issues of national character, national psychology and culture, cultural idea and philosophy, and the healthy development of the modernization. It also plays an important role for the protection and transmission of Tujia culture—the concept of the Tujia folk art in people's lives.This research is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces the origin of the topic, the purpose of the study, its significance and methods to explain several key concepts, and describes the issues associated with the research results. Chapter two focuses the research on Tujia brocade and artistic language, introduces the concept of the Tujia brocade, origins, technological features and functions. This chapter also analyzes the skeletal form, abstract shapes, imagery, distortion performance, the composition of point, line and plane, the basic shape of the art of color combinations and decorative point of view of Tujia Brocade. Chapter three offers a brief analysis of the current status of art teaching at Hubei Fine Arts Institute for Nationalities and also describes the function and role of Tujia brocade element in art teaching program. Chapter four focuses on the exploration of Tujia Brocade elements in arts teaching at Hubei Fine Arts Institute for Nationalities and also uses a large number of picture on the brocade elements to compare students works with text description and to summarize the research results and to explore further the development strategy for the future. This chapter also advocates the reasonable application of the characteristics of folk art into the teaching of national colleges and universities. Furthermore, this chapter also provides an important theoretical significance and foundation to find the abstract elements of modern painting and design in common area in order to develop new teaching ideas to further improve the cultivation of China's art education model. Chapter five summarizes the results and some understanding of this research.The creativity and innovations of this research do not merely remain at the research level of Tujia brocade artistic language level but also from an artistic point of view tries to look for and embody the similarities between the artistic language and Hubei Institute for Nationalities art teaching program. Further, this research stresses the unique role and the special nature of the folk arts in art teaching with an emphasis on student creativity, imagination and comprehensive analysis abilities, so that they will be better prepared for the needs of global society and to develop a new area of culture and arts research. |
