This thesis consists of three chapters: chapter one describes"female subjectivity"in social life, chapter two"female subjectivity"in personal life and chapter three"female subjectivity"in written language. Chapter one develops from three aspects: a fourteen-years-old girl who personally experienced the painful history, the conflicts between hometown and city and individual woman's fate in the history of female family. Women's floating and suffering state proves their extreme difficulties when entering society and seeking independence. Chapter two develops from four aspects: women's growth in fatherless context, the dissolution of the love myth, individual woman in daily life and women's peaceful attitude towards death. The key point of this thesis is how to expose women's subject identity and value in"personalized"life.Chapter three develops from the aspects of women's viewpoint and image."Female subjectivity"in Jiang Yun's novels can never be fully analyzed unless they are studied from the aspects of society, individual and language. Meanwhile, through Jiang Yun's tragic writing style, we shall feel deeper about the fact that the way to women's liberation is long. Their difficulties and hardships could not be expressed in words. It is not reliable to put the hope of women's redemption on men. Instead, women's liberty must be gained by their own efforts, as is the significance of studying"female subjectivity"in Jiang Yun's novels.
