The study of this thesis is Schubert's piano sonatas in his three periods. Three in the early period, "Piano Sonata in a minor" (D.537), "Piano Sonata in B flat" (D.575) , " Piano Sonata in E down" (D.568).Three in the mid-period, "Piano Sonata in a minor" (D.784), "Piano Sonata in a minor" (D.845), "Piano Sonata in D flat" (D .850).Three in the later period, "Piano Sonata in c minor" (D.958), "Piano Sonata in A flat" (D.959), " Piano Sonata in B down " (D.960).This thesis introduces Schubert's creation process of piano sonatas in his three stages, and summarizes the different styles and features of them.. The analysis of Schubert's piano sonatas in the thesis is both macro and micro. Macroscopic, it mainly classifies the piano sonata music by its combination. And it generalizes the changes of the amount of movements in these three periods, the relationship between the tonality and the amount of the tonality, the arrangement of form structure, and the usage of changing form. Microscopic, it mainly elaborates the characteristics of the theme melody, the structure of the exposition in the main part, and the changes of the relationship between the main part and the secondary part, etc. At the end of the thesis it elaborates the usage of harmonic material by Schubert.
