Internet Privacy Protection

It has been no more than 20 years since Internet was introduced into China, for which, no one could imagine such a rapid speed for the development of Internet. Today, Internet application can be seen in every aspect of our life and it makes people's daily life more convenient, with its features of openness and convenience. People make use of the Internet for digital office, storage of personal information, expressing personal comments, and communicating with others, so our work and life has been inseparable from Internet, and the entire society has a dependency on it. However, the popularity of Internet is like a double-edged sword that brings convenience to us, but also threatens the safety of our personal privacy. Privacy protection involves personal cultivation, cultural traditions, legal system and other issues, while the development and popularization of Internet technology has increased the complexity of privacy protection. Once the privacy is exposed to Internet, its spreading scope and hazards are often more serious than that people could imagine.Current legal system in China is unable to solve the resulting disputes satisfactorily, and facing with the growing trend for Internet privacy infringement, we must step up the relevant research and legislation for Internet privacy infringement protection. This article attempts to make a little contribution to the research on protection of Internet privacy infringement.In the first part, I make an analysis on the concepts, contents, means and elements of privacy and Internet privacy infringement, clearly defining the judgments on Internet privacy infringement, and getting an overall understanding on the concepts of privacy and Internet privacy infringement. In the second part, a comprehensive analysis on Internet privacy infringement is given, with the subject, reasons and means of infringement being described in detail, which enables us to have a comprehensive understanding on Internet privacy infringement and lays a foundation for the following text on the legislation for privacy protection. The article also cites a considerable number of typical cases and also makes in-depth analysis on the specific representation of Internet privacy infringement. In the end of article, I make an analysis on the current status of Internet privacy infringement protection in China, based on the research and comparison of Internet privacy infringement protection at home and abroad, especially the research on industry self-regulation model with the United States as the representative and the laws and regulations dominant model with the European Union as the representative. Direct at the existing law vacancies, I am trying to find a viable entry point to propose some feasible suggestions in the level of legislation and institution based on the current situation in China.
