The Revival of republicanism has become one of the most striking phenomena in contemporary Western academic, it is an important way to understand the problem we grasp the development direction of Western political philosophy and the history of the traditional. Philip? Pettit as a typical representative of the new republican, has been arguing the basis of the revival of contemporary political philosophy, especially republicanism. In Pettit’s view, before other ethical requirements(such as welfare and needs of the community justice), the new republicanism should be associated with freedom theory. Pettit’s pioneering work is mostly outside of the freedom theory of these two kinds of Berlin’s "positive freedom and negative freedom", put forward the third kind of freedom that is “freedom as non domination”, and takes it as the core idea of the new republicanism.
