On The Legal Limitation Of Film And Television Subtitle Group

On 22 nd, Nov, 2014, one of the fun-sub website which is called “SheShou” announced to close the website. On 20 th, Dec, 2014, fub-sub group “YYeTs” also announced to close the website permanently. It became to a big news on the Internet. Fun-sub group, as a new private association, introducing and translating the foreign dramas or films for us, but at the same time, facing the problems of copyright infringement. In this paper, I want to talk about the scope of the fan-sub group. Through analyzing the conditions of the fan-sub group, introducing the similar case which was from Japan, I try to discuss the legal issues of the fan-sub group. And I also give some opinions of mine which are about the difference between the Copyright Act of China and the Copyright Act of Japan. I also write the similar case from the United States of America to show that similar action in America is also the infringement of the copyright. Since I am now studying in the University of Montreal in Quebec in Canada, I also introduce some new regulations in Canada from what I have learned. I also think that to achieve the development of the fun-sub group, depending not only on the improvement of the relevant laws and regulations, but on the trans-conformation of the fan-sub group. From the two aspects, the fan-sub groups can be more useful for our daily life.
