Mao Zedong is a grand proletariat strategist, and his military thoughts derived from Chinese traditional culture which influenced his thoughts most, the basic principles of Marxism and foreign military concepts. No matter when he was the conduct of campaigns or when he wrote the military writings, he used Chinese traditional culture with ease. Mao used Chinese traditional military culture into his thoughts, what’ more, as a person who was huge influenced by Chinese traditional culture, he inherited Chinese traditional culture in a critical way. The most important is that he combined Chinese traditional culture and Marxism which became a new concept which could be used into the revolution of China. He made Marxism into China possible. On the view of war, he got rid of the Chinese traditional idealism and feudalism superstition, and described his view of war in materialism way. For example, he thought wars came from the appearance of class, and the essence of war is the continue of politics. In methodology and stratagem, he used Chinese traditional military thoughts into materialistic dialectics. We can summarize in some words,such as objective, cognitive, practice, regular pattern, active, dialectical, people, defense and so on. In conclusion, his thought conducted the campaigns and revolution of China successfully. He is the greatest wealth of China, and it is meaningful for us to study his thoughts in the future campaign and conduction of military.
