The purpose of this thesis is to require the theoretical benifts of socialism with Chinese characteristics from market socialism, to widen its theoretical bases in order to strengthen people?s confidence and determination of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. The briefest definition of 搈arket socialism?is to achieve the aims of socialism by means of market. It is mentioned by comparing with 搈arket capitalism?represented by the U. S. and 損lanned socialism?symbolized by the former USSR. After a century?s development, market socialism has achieved a series of great contributions successfully such as Langian Mode, neutral market mechanism and dominant market mechanism. These theories have broken through the traditional restrictions of mutual ?attack between market and socialism; established several new ideas such as compatibility between market and public ownership and co ?existence between plan and market; conveyed great conceptions that plan or market is just a measure or a tool of deploying resources, but not the borderline of two economic systems. All these theoretical achievements brand ?newly changed the viewpoints of traditional socialism that socialism can only carry on planned economy. And this has emancipated our minds, opened up our thinking, swept the block and laid the foundation for our exploration of market ?oriented economic structure at the beginning of reform. The theory of market socialism has become the theoretical guide and bases to our exploration of market ?oriented reform courses. It?s just under the ?? influence and inspiration of the theory of market socialism that our reform of economic structure was led to the right way of market orientation from the very beginning. With the successful progress of reform, the market mechanism enlarged continuously. The mode of socialist market economy structure was decided in the 14th Congress of CCP at last. This supplied the strong ensurance to the success of reform and the lift ?off of the economy. Although market socialism achieved several great theoretical breakthrough, it stopped at the external combination on the question of relationship between socialism and market economy. In fact, It is just the first step to confirm theoretically that socialism can be jointed to market economy. We can never stop at the stage of external combination if we want to manifest the advantages of socialist system fully and to make full use of the positive function of market. We should reconstruct consciously the traditional public ownership in time and explore a new one according to the need of modern enterprise system in order to manifest the function of market better. It is just on this point that socialist market economy exceeded and developed market socialism. Chinese socialist market economy accepted the rational conclusion of market socialism, at the same time it broke through the theoretical restriction of market socialism and reconstructed the traditional state ?owned system fundamentally on the basis of China抯 socialist nature and its national condition of primary stage.
