Reflections On The Chinese Market-oriented Interest Rate

Along with the development of market-ecnomy in Chi-na and the rapid spread of economic globalization, many abuses of con-trolled-nterest-ate in the area of economy and finance become moreand more prominent. The urgency of loosing interest ?rate ?controland carrying Out interest ?rate ?liberalization is becoming stronger.This thesis mainly discusses the necessity and sufficiency of interest?rate ?liberalization, through reviewing our interest rate managementsystem' s developing process, analyzing the problems of the present,and drawing on the experiences of other countries. The analysis indi-cates that though we have had basic conditions of interest-ate-iber-alization, some difficulties are to be solved. If some relative measuresin allusion to the difficulties, are implemented and perfected, the op-portunities of interest ?rate ?liberalization are almost mature. Ourcountry's interest ?rate ?liberalization should take gradual way, ad-vance the following steps: first RMB then foreign currency; firstwholesale then retail; first loan then deposit; first large amount thensmall amount.
