Abstract: With a thorough study of the kinship concealment institution inancient china laws, the thesis focuses on three points: Firstly, through aconsideration of the kinship concealment on a whole and a research into someexamples respectively, the thesis makes an investigation on the origin anddevelopment of the kinship concealment institution and reveals the generalcharacteristics and the regularity of the kinship concealment institution. sec-ondly, the thesis discusses its causes of foundation and thinks that the foun-dation of this institution has close relation with the clan organization andconfucianism. Thirdly, by anlysising the historical effect of the kinship con-cealment intitution, the thesis points out that it only is the tool of upholdingfeudal patriarchy and feudal hierarcy and that the law awareness reflectingthe kinship concealment institution still make influence on modern people'smind, which play a negative influence of socialist legal construction.
