As China will enter WTO in a near future, the caprolactam industry of our country will face tremendous challenges: One is the challenge from the internationalization of our domestic market. The caprolactam industry of our country will face direct competition with large international companies in all aspects including cost, price and marketing; The other is the challenge from the technology innovation in the field of caprokctam production. The application of new process by foreign companies will make them to be in a dominant position as far as cost is concerned. As the largest caprokctam producer inside China, how Yingshan Petrochemical Works will increase its competitive capability and compete with the foreign companies of the same trade, it's not only a matter of self-existence and development, but also concerns the vitalization of our national caprokctam industry.Using the strategy theory of enterprise competition and in view of existing situation of Yingshan Petrochemical Works, this article makes strategic analysis from several angles on market scale, the same trade competition, spare resources and loss causes etc. On the basis of this, this article proposes a strategic competition pkn for Yingshan Petrochemical Works from the aspects of capital restructuring, management restructuring, low cost tactics, technology innovation system and how to cultivate kernel competitive capability. This article also carries analysis and evaluation on how to realize and control the strategies in an attempt of guiding Yingshan Petrochemical WTorks to carry out the strategies correctly, develop and grow continuously in the process of severe market competition and undertake the responsibility of vitalizing our national caprolactam industry.
