As large socialist countries, China and Soviet Union were faced an urgent task---- reforming the remained political system to gear to the requirements of new situation and development of international and national politics and economy. Same as the leader of the Party and country, Deng Xiaoping and Paзмьшления they both had profound recognitions in malpractice of each country's political system and proposed similar reform contents. However, their reform guiding thinkings were quite different. They had radical differences on a series of important problems in principle as follows. Whether to insist on socialism or not? Whether the Party be the leader or the "impeding mechanism"? Whether to draw on or to adopt western democracy model intactly? And how to treat Marxism? These differences, closely related to basic national conditions and leaders of the two countries, were the important reasons causing opposite results in two countries, one was prosperity of the Party, nation and socialism in China while the other was destruction in Soviet Union. The fact has proved that it's impossible for China to be a capitalist country by the hard exploration of forerunners in China's revolution. Though frustrated by the culture revolution, people still have deep feelings and sufficient trust for CPC. After 1980's, the efficient China's economic restructing has made favorable basis of promoting China's political restructing. In addition, the failure of Soviet Union's model provided experiences and lessons for China's reform to draw on. But for Paзмьшления,it's a different thing. When he came into power, the national conditions were worse, such as complicated national contradictions, loosing of reform opportunities, serious conviction crisis, especially the unshaken idea of "leftist" and western long-thinking conspiracy of "evolving peacefully" and so on. Though these factors were unfavorable to the reform, it did not mean the evitable failure because the reform also had much to do with leader's faith and ability of controlling the situation. Deng Xiaoping is a communist soldier going through serious trials, deeply loving the Party and our country, unswervingly believing in Marxism and being honorably respected. While Paзмьшления is a leader of the new generation born and grown up in a peaceful period and mounted to the top step by step by leader's special care and his own efforts. Though he hated malpractice of the old system and delegated many people to call for reform, after all, he was from the old system and couldn't jump out from it. The most important is that he couldn't direct the reform firmly and definitely and compromised to the opposite at the key moment so that the largest socialist country with a 74-year history was converted to capitalism. Based on the comparisons above, the article puts forward several thoughts as the following. Political restructing should be in accordance with economic restructing, the leadership of CPC should be insisted on, the reform should be conducive to consolidation and development of socialism, Marxism should be in the dominant position and the reform should adopt the developing model according to the national conditions of its own.
