After the cold war, the national security issues present the features of variety, complexity and comprehensiveness. It cannot fully explain the national security issue to study it just from the objective side. The state as a unit is a combination of objectiveness and subjectivity, so the research on its security cannot provide a new guidance for solving the security issues under the new situation until the research on the subjective side acquires a breakthrough. And the psychology, which has been applied to the research on diplomatic decision-making, shows tremendous analytical advantage in studying the subjective side of national security issue. The thesis builds up a bridge between psychology and national security through the core concept of fear. This thesis makes an analysis of the relation between national fear and national security, the accumulation and elimination of national fear and the paradox of national fear by borrowing some psychological concepts and methods. It also illustrates the importance influence of the unreal fear on national security activities.India has unreal fear of China typically because of the history and geo. The most obvious is the "China Threat" advocated by India in 1998 to defend its nuclear tests. And the West and Japan have also wantonly concocted the so-called "China Threat" that is hovering in some states. Therefore, the thesis takes India's unreal fear of China as example and attempts to provide a new perspective for these countries who state "China Threat" to establish a sound security relation with China and provide some suggestions for China to solve the similar issues.
