With the deepening of China's reformation, China is playing an increasingly the important role in international trade and the conditions are ripe for China to accede to the WTO(the World Trade Organization).The thesis first gives a brief introduction to the history, purpose, important principles of the WTO and the meaning of China entering WTO. Then it predicts, According to the basic legal principle of WTO, that SINOPEC will be faced with severe challenge after entering WTO, analyses the status of domestic oil product industry and the competition between SINOPEC and CNPC; This article also analyses the influence of entering WTO on domestic oil product market and the status of global big petrochemical companies entering domestic oil product market, summarize the problem of domestic oil product market. Through the contrast analysis on crude oil resource, refining capacity, capital distribution, marketing capability and profitability between SINOPEC and global big petrochemical companies, the article concludes that there exists bigger gaps in various aspects for the SINOPEC. At the end, this article puts forth some counter-measures: SINOPEC should strengthen the trade and end --sale of crude oil, oil product and natural gas, integrate production and marketing operation, unit strong individual companies manage and the assets; increase market competitiveness with progress of science and technology as the driving force for the petroleum industry development. For the race to control market, SINOPEC should utilize the means of controlling resources, leading market of oil product and developing joint-venture or co-management. The flexible and effective management system within enterprise and macro-adjustment and control of government also help and promote the existence and development of enterprise.
