Taiwan's People First Party On The Analysis

Since People First Party (PFP) was established, it has been got involved in the Taiwanese political arena powerfully as a participator and a competitor, and has become" The Third Force" of Taiwan.Basing on PFP's political activity, the author expounds the process of its establishment and development realistically, elaborates its propositions objectively and analyzes the prospect of its development completely.The writing is composed of three parts.In the first part,the author analyzes the reason and the influence of the establishment of the party.The object reasons are:1. the pluralism and the democratization of political situation in Taiwan;2.the exist of the space of " The Third Force" in Taiwan;3. after voting, the empress threatening force does not decline but rise.The subjective reasons are: l.the product of the struggle inside the Kuomintang(KMT), especially between the power of Lee and Sung ;2. the demand of continuing the political life of part of "stand Sung".The influence of establishment primarily is :1.predicates the reabruption of the KMT;2. result in the pressure of Democratic and Progressive Party(DPP) to a certain extent;3. make Taiwanese political situation complicated;4. increase the new variety of Taiwan politics.In the second part of the paper,the author mainly analyzes the social foundation and the propositions of the party. Its social foundation is primarily the people who have bad impression on Lee Denghui, those who are dissatisfied with KMT's "money politics", those who don't trust "Taiwan-Independency"of DPP and those who support unity. Since PFP was established, a series of political propositions have been put forward .But with the cross-strait relation becoming the focused issue of Taiwan,the factors of mainland influence directly or indirectly so-called "domestic affairs", "diplomacy", "national defense" etc. Therefore, PFP's mainland policy is expounded as focal point in the thesis.It's mainland policy is peaceful, misty, self-contradict etc. And the reasons why it release such mainland policy are: 1.apply the "middle route",in order to attract more votes;2. the inevitable request of mainland peaceful reunification and cross-strait exchanges' rapid development;3 .adjust the international current, especially cater for the United States' strategy benefits.In the third part,basing on analyzing its present condition's foundation, the author make a complete analysis of the advantageous and disadvantageous factors of the PFP's development.Beneficial factors are: 1.its appearance attracts the public;2. the magic power of the party leader is strong;3.be good at making use of strategy.Disadvantageous factors are: 1.its position;2.the party is only being built on personal magic power in James Soong;3.its political resources and KMT's overlap at a high rate;4.inner conflicts appears;5.the obstacle of "province knot";6.1ack the strong source of money support.At the end of the thesis ,this conclusion is reached: the election of Taiwanese local leader after two years is the key to the future of PFP. If James Soong can be elected the President in this election, PFP will have more development possibility; If James Soong fails again, he may be not take part in again 2008 leader election and gradually fade out the Taiwanese political arena, make PFP on the foundation of personal magic power disappear.Therefore, PFP ought to demonstrate their own intelligence, overcome their deficiency and cooperate with the KMT sincerely. Thus the future of PFP will be bright;Otherwise, if the struggle between PFP and KMT breaks out again, the prospect of PFP will be worth misgiving.
