"Labor" and "praxis" are always important concepts of Marxist philosophy ,and the two concepts were defined in different meanings by Marx. The distinctions between the two concepts were not expounded expressly in Marxist philosophy . But in the different historical periods, from the different angles and at the different levels,Marx used the different concepts, therefore, the thesis is written from comparable angle and brings out the differences in denotation connotation mode of thinking and process between the two concepts. In denotation ,praxis is the generality of human activities ,and labor is a concrete form of praxis. In connotation, labor is a natural ability, namely,a display of manpower and praxis is the way human exists essentially . In process, labor may be alienated under some conditions and praxis is an only way to eliminate the alienated labor. In mode of thinking, labor is a subjective and objective mode of thinking, praxis is a general mode of thinking. The distinctions can help clarify the confusion of the two concepts in the fields of theories, and better understand the Marxist philosophical revolution and characteristics and its great value for philosophical history.
