The article preliminarily probes into political mobilization concerning the subject and the object, mobilization pattern, mobilization circumstance, operational mechanism and measurement of performance during the initial historical period (1949-1956) of the People's Republic of China, which offer beneficial enlightenment and experience for the current political mobilization of China.Firstly, the elementary theory as well as the survey study of political mobilization both at home and abroad is covered in this article. Secondly, based on a great deal of historical data, the main elements including the subject, the object, the environment and the pattern of political mobilization during the initial stage of new China are systematically analyzed in the article and four characteristics of the mobilization patterns are outlined as following: combining widespread propaganda and agitation with profound ideological education; making full use of the medium such as broadcast and newspaper; adopting lively patterns of literature and art; demonstrating with typical examples. Thirdly, the author also explores three characteristics of operational mechanism of political mobilization at that time, namely mass movement as the carrier; organic control mechanism promoted by state power; interest achievement mechanism based on class struggle. Furthermore, not only the criterion of the measurement of performance and historical effect of political mobilization but also its forming mechanism of the minus effect has been analyzed in detail. Finally, in the light of the experience and the lesson of political mobilization during the initial historical period of the P.R.C, the article puts forward five pieces of enlightenment for contemporary political mobilization.
