| This article will list the electrical appliances industry in China as an example to illustrate how the E-business can help enterprises improve the efficiency of material circulation.The first chapter begins with the concept of E-business. It covers the content of E-business and contains an introduction of its origin, its development, its features as well as its relationship with the materials circulation. The efficiency of the materials circulation has a direct impact upon the benefits of an enterprise, while the improvement of the efficiency of the material circulation demands the guidance of a fast and accurate information flow. Thus the emergence of the E-business just satisfies this very demand. Besides, the continuous development and perfection of the E-business will further stimulate the improvement of the efficiency of the material circulation.The second chapter mainly analyses the new changes and new characteristics of the enterprise competition patterns and operation modes brought about by the economic globalization and network popularization. On the basis of such changes, the application of E-business has become a must for the Chinese enterprises to be in accordance with the global trend and to better its ability of existence. This choice is not only well recognized by the enterprises, but also strongly supported by the government. In addition, with the gradual perfection of the infrastructure of the credit system and the telecommunication, the application of the E-business becomes something practicable. Then how to apply will be the next issue. The enterprises can only benefit from the E-business by applying it and incorporating it with the practical operations of the enterprise, thus its merits can be fully manifested. Targeting on the problem of low efficiency of material circulation facing by most of the Chinese enterprises, our enterprises should focus our attention on the improvement of the efficiency of material circulation when applying the E-business, making the E-business an effective remedy for the enterprises.The third and the fourth chapter will center on the electric appliance industry to give an illustration of how an enterprise should apply and practice the E-business with the purpose of improving the efficiency of material circulation. The author considers that this can be done from the following two aspects: on the one hand, it should establish a highly efficient material circulation E-business mode; On the other hand, taking the advantage of the E-business information system, it should incorporate with concerned enterprises and improve the efficiency of the whole supply chain. We should admit that Haier has done a comparative perfect job in establishing a highly efficiency material circulation E-business information system and it has gained a lot from that. This whole set of system not only contains the ERP system which aims to improve the internal material circulation efficiency, but also successfully adopted the B2B and B2C system whose purpose is to contact the suppliers as well as the customers. The direct influence of the application is: the improvement of the efficiency of the material circulation, the decrease of the cost and the increase of the level of customer satisfaction.As to the strengthening of the material circulation efficiency with the external supply chain, the author considers that B2B and B2C which are set up on the strong basis of global purchase, sale and distribution, as Haier do, is for sure effective, but it is not so realistic and practical for most of the electric appliances enterprises. There are more than one hundred enterprises in the electric appliances industry in China and they differ greatly in their capacity.Few of them can reach the level of Haier. What's more, if every enterprise sets up its own individual sales and distribution systems, it will cause the overlap of the network and the waste of resources.
