Welfare State And Its Theoretical Criticism

The breakthrough point of this article is the relation between welfare state and its criticizing theory. From this point, the author has investigated many relevant problems of welfare state.In the first part of the article, the author tries to analyse the concept and essential features of the welfare state, the reasons of the origin of welfare state and its developing patterns separately. On the basis of the analyses of concept of welfare state, the author has summarized five essential features of the welfare state. It is an extremely complicated course for the origin of the welfare state, about this there have been a lot of relevant literatures. This article has introduced four major reasons of the origin of welfare state. Then the author just analyses several kinds of common classification and pattern of the welfare state. In the second part, the author just points out that it is the impact of the economic globalization, regime legitimacy crisis and the question of equal distribution of incomes that really cause influences on the policy adjustment of welfare state at present. Because of different conditions, different states have taken different measures to deal with the crisis of welfare state.In the third part, the author introduces the criticizing attitudes of several different theories, and analyses their influences to the welfare state.The arguments on the theory of welfare state have influenced the development of it. For every pattern of welfare state, there are many factors that have great influences on the welfare state, but among them we must pay attention to the factor of ideology.
