China Mining Enterprise Information Management

With the rapid development of global economy incorporating and informatization, the competition among companies is more and more intensive. Under the current circumstance, implementing management informatization is an effective way for firms to improve economical performance and social benefits and to increase competitive power. The purpose of the thesis is to study how mining companies in China to realize management with IT, by applying the modern management theory and information technology (IT).By analyzing the relationship between management transform and information technology, two key problems have been identified during the process of implementing management informatization in mining companies. They are lagging management mode and faulty management information system (MIS). Consequently the corresponding methods are proposed to solve the problems, namely building modern enterprise system, rcengineering the old business process, creating new organization structure, implementing supply chain management and applying new information technology to develop management information system.The application of Intranet in mining companies, a new type of technology used for developing MIS, has been researched, especially for the constructing of MIS based on Intranet (IBMIS) and its main function, security as well.With the systemic introduction of supply chain management (SCM) theory and the relationship between SCM and management informatization, the thesis aims how to improve the old management mode, operation How and organization structure on the basis of SCM ideology. Furthermore, the general strategies on implementing management informatization in mining companies with SCM and information technology are recommended.As a result, an IBMIS has been designed and built for Xingqiao mine, including its general function, technology of building network, network structure, network application model as well as safety control. The process of developing Xingqiao management information system (XQM-MIS), with Powerbuilder7.0 MS SQL Server 2000 and ASP has been detailed in this thesis. The experience of using this system has shown its effectiveness.
