E-commerce is an emerging business model in the Internet economics age, representing the mainstream trend of the development of business. As the core of E-commerce, the payment system based on the Internet has achieved great development worldwide.Internet payment in China is built upon the credit transfer system of debit account (debit card) based on the E-banking. This system has been in the constant polishing process since Capinfo Company established the payment gateway model of tier-2-clearing was established in 1999. Though the system is safe, its payment manner is too simple. Hence, many potential payment demands, such as P2P, anonymous payment for Internet business except for B2C payment, cannot be met. With the further development of E-commerce, the creativity of payment field is more possible than before. In fact, the in-depth application of Internet has produced new kinds of payment system. New payment tools, such as virtual purse, virtual account, email payment, have met the business demands in Internet communities. Great impacts have been made on the traditional payment system.Internet payment is an emerging industry in which few companies are operating and there are no successful cases in China so far. All relevant problems in this field, theoretically and practically, have to be figured out. Analysis in this paper is based on some practical cases and the comparison of the Sino-foreign Internet payment industry. Furthermore, this paper is about to provide some advices for the development of online payment platform in China when this industry is much affected by financial policy and the business model tends towards similarity.
