Human Capital In The Agricultural Economic Growth

With 21 century coming, the knowledge is increasingly important in modern economy, the western developed nations are undergoing transition from the industrial society to the knowledge-based economy .The economy growth which depended on the natural resources and the capital resources in the industrial society now gradually turns to knowledge and human capital. The national comprehensive strength and the competition abilities also depend on the quantity and creative levels of human resources more and more. The position of human capital in national economy and economy growth is increasingly prominent, as well as in the agricultural growth. As is said by Theodore. W.Schultz "The foreground of the agriculture is neither determined by the physical property of land, nor is due to the space -. the quantity of cultivable land or energies, a basic factor is the ability of person, in this aspect, the agricultural development is to has no end ." Exactly according to such view, my thesis analyzes the function of human capital in our country agriculture.The analytical frame is arranged as the following: First, begin with the Slow Model, and then define human capital that has been concealed in technical progress and played an import role in economy growth. In the second part, I adapted logicallyanalytical frame of "'food problem' technical progress' 'human capital'"to explain importance of human capital in agricultural growth. In the third part, we further improve the function of human capital in agriculture after reform and opening. At last, we end in summary.In this thesis, we draw a series of conclusions below.- (1) Given the constant agriculture technique, owing to the developing increasingly population scale and the resources of the land reducing increasingly, the latent "food problem" really exists in our country (2) The human capital is an essential condition of technical progress of agriculture. (3) Human capital is an important factor in our country agriculture growthsince reform and opening, and the foreground of its function is the huge. (4) The level of human capital in agriculture is very low, so we must enforce the investment of the human capital.
