Evidence is the core of litigation. In criminal justice, confession is the most important and complex one of all forms of evidences. This article discusses the concept, elements, characteristics and forms of confession. By differentiating confession from statement, defence, confession by suspect or co-defendant, confession is justified as evidence in psychological, moral and objective aspects. Therefore, by analysing the admissibility of confession and exclusionary rules of illegally obtained confession as the protection and compared studies on the foreign cases, author is trying to establish exclusionary rules in PRC. Corroboration rules are requirements of further evidences to strengthen the admissibility of confession. This article discusses the corroboration rules in legislative and practicing fields in the world and deeply considers the theoretical fundaments, applied scope, corroboration for single suspect and co-defendants and the relevant requirements.
