The concept of insured is a primary concept in the law of insurance. And the insuredplays an important role in the insurance contract. On the condition that the applicantand the insured are different persons, this article analyses the relationship between theapplicant and the insured and describe the insured's rights and obligations in theinsurance contract clearly. Further, it is advised that the applicant should be the agentof the insured when they are different persons. In the foreword this essay makes theframe of discussion, namely, the question this essay wants to solve. In the first chapter,the author advises that the definition of insurable interest should be transferableventure, or the object of insurance contract. Then, on the basis of the first chapter, theinsured should be one party of contract, through the comparison between insurancecontract for others and contract for others' interests. The last but not the least, theinsured should have all rights and obligations of the party in the insurance contractafter specifying the insured's rights and obligations.
